‘I’m going to Carnival through the Puente de Palmas’ is the slogan of the poster, with a lion in disguise as the main character.
On Wednesday 13 December, the councillor for Fairs and Festivities, José Antonio Casablanca, presented the official poster for the Badajoz Carnival 2024 together with the head of Institutions of the Extremadura and Southern Territorial Directorate, José Luis López.
The official poster has the slogan ‘I’m going to Carnival through the Puente de Palmas‘ and the author is José Ángel Ligero Martínez, from Alfaro, La Rioja. It was the winning entry out of the 28 entries submitted.
The poster features a lion in the foreground, a symbol of the city present in the recently approved flag of Badajoz, and with its costume invites the whole city and visitors to do so during the carnival dates.
Behind the lion is an arch, another representative symbol of the city, present in places such as Puente de Palmas, Alcazaba or Plaza Alta.
