Carnival, we all wait for it
Badajoz in Carnival is transformed, moved, passionate, accelerated and renewed. Badajoz in Carnival puts on the disguise, it becomes a different city, a city where no one feels like a stranger but part of a formidable group of people of all kinds and conditions who come together to be part of themselves, to get the best of themselves and to share ingenuity, imagination, spark and, of course, mischief.
In Carnival, Badajoz opens up to the world, invites everyone, welcomes everyone and makes different people out of everyone: it becomes a city that faces the party, that strives to have a good time, to end the rules and tiresome thoughts and that builds a landscape where rhythm and persion is served in abundance.
All these characteristics, and many more, are what have allowed us to hold the title of Festival of National Tourist Interest. Our Carnival is one of the best in Spain. And all thanks to the passion, effort, and dedication of the citizens of Badajoz.
Comparsas, Murgas, Groups, Artifacts, the banners, the group of friends, the tourists, all those who participate are already prepared, with their guitars, drums, sequins and colors, diamonds and wigs, hats and costumes, tourists and lyrics, choreographies and parades, performances in the theater or in the street, its bars, its squares, its neighborhoods, the sardine, the proclamation, young and old. A party designed exclusively so that no one feels bad, capable of falling in love. A Badajoz party that is Badajoz because it starts from its own roots, from its own entrails.
Badajoz in Carnival grows bigger, gains in prestige, interest, attractiveness and the Badajoz carnival happens to be a party with all the ingredients to be considered, without a doubt, one of the essential festive and traditional events.
So let’s approach Carnival 2018 with the same spirit as always, which has made it a unique party.
