A Badajoz Carnival Comparsa is a group of people who, dressed identically in themed costumes, participate in the Badajoz Carnival with music, usually percussion, and dance.
The troupes participating in the Grand Parade of the Badajoz Carnival must be composed of a minimum of 30 people, with no maximum limit.
They must be made up of a live band and a dance troupe, preceded by at least one banner bearing the troupe’s number and name.
All troupes participating in the Badajoz Carnival Grand Parade must have the following characteristics:
DRESS
HAT
MAKE UP
CHOREOGRAPHY
music
Banners are items carried by the comparsas to identify them. Each comparsa will carry at least one, which will precede the rest of the group and bear the number assigned for the parade order. There are two types: fixed banners, carried by one or more people, and mobile banners, carried on wheels.
