Carolina Yuste will be the herald of the Carnival of Badajoz 2025
The renowned actress from Badajoz will offer the opening speech, Eduardo Fernández will give the Exaltation speech and the young people Lucía Amaya, Laura Alegría, Ángel Martín and Mateo Jiménez will give the children’s speech.
This Wednesday the Councillor for Fairs and Festivals, José Antonio Casablanca, has presented the speeches of the Carnival of Badajoz 2025, a Festival of International Tourist Interest that will be held from February 28 to March 8.
This edition, the person in charge of giving the opening speech will be the actress from Badajoz Carolina Yuste, who has been present at the presentation through a video. “It makes me very happy for many reasons to give the speech, to celebrate something that I consider to have always been a symbol of the town, to go out on the street and enjoy”, she highlighted.
The councillor has stated that “we wanted her to be the one because it is a unifying fact that she is a person from Badajoz, who has lived the carnival, and who also has a great projection at a national level”. The opening speech will take place on Friday 28 February at 8:30 pm from the balcony of Badajoz Town Hall. In addition, this week she will attend the Goya Awards in Granada nominated for Best Leading Actress for her role in the film ‘La infiltrada’, as well as Best Documentary Short Film for ‘Ciao Bambina’.

The III Proclamation of the Exaltation has also been presented, which this year will be performed by the carnival-goer Eduardo Fernández on Thursday, March 6, starting at 9:00 p.m. at the López de Ayala Theater in Badajoz.
Eduardo Fernández is president of the Association of Choirs and Dances of Badajoz and director of the International Folk Festival, as well as being the founder of the Vendaval comparsa and always closely linked to the Badajoz Carnival. He has stated that “I have been a carnival-goer since 1981 and we are still here. It is an honor to make that proclamation.”
The Children’s Proclamation, for its part, will celebrate its fourth edition this year and those in charge of carrying it out will be the young Lucía Amaya, from the La Bullanguera comparsa; Laura Alegría, from the Los Waltrapas artifact; Ángel Martín, from the Los Charpicaos murga; and Mateo Jiménez, from the Los Camalotes del Guadiana animation group.
